SFDUG May 2018 | Reengineering Computational Design: The CORE Studio at Thornton Tomasetti

On May 16th at 6:00pm pst SFDUG welcomes Daniel Segraves, from Thornton Tomasetti Engineers, who will present some of his recent work with Dynamo.

Reengineering Computational Design: The CORE Studio at Thornton Tomasetti

Daniel Segraves, from Thornton Tomasetti Engineers – CORE Studio, will present recent work using Dynamo for a range of structural design applications. These include a variety of translation approaches, custom workflows, model repair and analysis tools, and production aids. CORE Studio is Thorton Tomasetti’s R&D incubator and advanced modeling group.
Daniel Segraves is a CORE studio Senior Computational Designer and works closely on tool development and research projects. He is a specialist in advanced modeling and computational design strategies, with expertise spanning a wide spectrum from architectural systems optimization to urban energy modeling. His work is widely published and he lectures frequently throughout the AEC community. Daniel’s background is in the design side of the field- before coming to Thornton Tomasetti he worked as a computational design specialist for OMA, SOM, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill, Gensler and others. He holds a BArch from the Rhode Island School of Design, and an MArch from the Architectural Association of London.
